What Exactly Is Anemia?
The anemia involves a reduced number of red blood cells, low levels of hemoglobin (Hgb) and / or the amount of red blood cells in the blood (hematocrit), and that is the reason why there is no sufficient amount of oxygen in the brain, heart, muscles and other parts of the body.
Anemia can be caused by too much and prolonged bleeding, lack of vitamin B12 or folic acid, disorder in the maturation of the red blood cells, as well as an increased or accelerated decomposition of the red blood cells.
However, the most common cause of anemia is the iron deficiency which causes the so-called “iron-deficiency anemia”. Sometimes, this disease develops despite the proper diet because the body cannot absorb sufficient amounts of iron, caused by other diseases or the use of certain medications.
What are the symptoms of anemia?
The symptoms such as pale face, dark circles under the eyes, chronic fatigue, loss of strength, appetite and concentration are characteristic for this disease. Frequent and persistent headaches are also characteristic for anemia, and sometimes suffocation due to lack of oxygen and cardiac arrhythmia can occur as well. The face and mucous membranes become pale, the nails become fragile, and there is also sensitivity to infection.
If you have these symptoms, you should definitely see your doctor in order to determine the exact cause and start the appropriate treatment.
Natural ways to treat anemia
Pour 3 cups of boiling water over 3 tablespoons of finely chopped nettle leaves and let it sit covered for 30 minutes. Strain it and drink it 3 times a day before meals.
Also, check how to make homemade nettle syrup.
Honey and Nettle
Mix 100 g of nettle seeds with 1 kilogram of honey and take one teaspoon of the mixture, three times a day.
Tea Mixture – Cure for Anemia
Mix equal parts of nettle, wall germander and common centaury, and pour 4 cups of boiling water over 4 tablespoons of this mixture and let it sit covered for 30 minutes.
You should drink one cup of tea four times a day, always before meals.
Treatment with Honey
If you are anemic, you should use the cure with honey, royal jelly and pollen, twice a year – at the turn of winter into spring and summer into autumn. The result will be visible not only in the blood, but it will also be reflected in the general condition of the organism.
- 500 grams of honey
- 130 grams of pollen grinded into powder
- 5 grams of royal jelly
Mix them well with a wooden spoon (or plastic) in a plastic pot. When the mixture becomes equal, put it in a jar and keep it in a dark and cool place. You should take one teaspoon of this mixture, in the morning on an empty stomach.
Diet for Anemia
The diet for anemia should be based on red meat, beef, steak and eggs, especially quail eggs that contain seven times more iron than the chicken eggs. You should take vitamin C every day – eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially beets, blackberries, raspberries, currants, carrots, apples and citrus fruits.
Make a spread of honey and organic cocoa (in the ratio of 1: 1, and if the mixture is too thick, add some butter or a few drops of orange juice) and consume it for breakfast with lemonade.
You should avoid coffee, black and green tea, and you should drink blackberry wine.
