South Beach DietSouth Beach diet is an ideal diet for those who love eating. What is important is the appropriate diet which supplies the organism with enough vitamins, minerals etc.

In addition to meat and fish, it contains fruit and vegetables as well and therefore, it is considered as a healthy diet. It is organized in three phases, each phase is led by a certain motive – the first phase is the most challenging because you should suddenly stop eating a certain type of food. The second one is the phase of stabilization, and the third one is to keep the desired weight which you have achieved.


In this phase there is a sudden loss of weight and elimination of desserts. It lasts for two weeks, and you can lose from 3.5 to 7 kg. In addition to meat, you should eat a lot of vegetables: spinach, chard, tomatoes, carrots, olive oil and low fat cheese. You must not eat animal fats and you should eliminate the carbohydrates such as bread, pastry, potatoes, pasta and any grains.


This is the phase of stabilization. You should gradually start using carbohydrates in your meals again, you can eat refined sugar, chocolate, ice cream, refined crackers and fruit in very small amounts. In larger amount you can eat cereals like: barley, oats, corn, rice and all kinds of vegetables. The emphasis is still on the protein ingredients like: meat, fish, cheese, eggs combined with large amounts of vegetables.

This diet contains fruit and vegetables, and therefore it is one of the healthiest diets.


In the third and last phase you should actually keep the desired body weight which you have achieved. It lasts until the rest of your life and involves restraining from empty calories, saturated fats and overeating. It is actually a lifestyle in which sometimes you are allowed to eat chocolate, ice cream or your favorite cake, but you should not exaggerate.


It is recommended to replace the sugar with artificial sweeteners and if you cannot live without chocolate, you should replace the milk chocolate with dark chocolate. It is important to consume omega-3 fatty acids from oily fish and fish oil.
