All previous mentioned proves that lemon health benefits are great, and should be consumed on a daily basis, but there are certainly specific home lemon remedies for prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Here are some of them:

Inflamed throat

#1. Add juice of one lemon and little salt in one cup of warm water, and rinse throat with small sips three times a day. You can do the same, but instead salt you can add one teaspoon of honey.

#2. In a cup with hot water squeezed juice of 1 lemon and soak gauze. Place it on the front of the neck and tie with a dry scarf or shawl.


#3. The most used treatment of headache is putting a couple lemon drops in your morning coffee, if this doesn’t help, you can place lemons slice around forehead and tie them up with a scarf or drain juice from one lemon on cotton scarf, put it on your forehead and hold for half an hour.

#4. If you have headache but your are on work, just drain lemon juice in a cup with water and drink several times a day, optionally you can add a little honey.

Colds and flu

#5. Mix in a bowl: 6 teaspoons lemon juice, 1 liter of water, 1 liter milk, 1/8 white wine and 250 grams of sugar. Boil it and allow to cool. Drink it, while is still warm.

#6. For prevention of colds and flu, you should drink a cup of water with lemon each day.

High temperature

#7. At increased body temperature, put a circle slices of lemon on the temples and tie it with a scarf.

Bleeding from the nose

#8. Soak cotton in lemon juice and put it in the nostrils and let it act for 15 minutes. The first 5 minutes squeeze nostrils with your fingers.


#9. To prevent heavily bleeding and disinfection, rub the wound with lemon juice. To prevent baking, wash the wound with lemon juice diluted in water, or soak cotton in the same solution and place it on the wound.

#10. If you have aphthae or cuts in the mouth, rinse your mouth with a glass of lukewarm water with squeezed lemon juice three times a day. You can apply this also for unpleasant breath.

Raising immunity

#11. Every morning drink a glass of warm water with juice of 1 lemon, note that you should drink in small sips.

Tired legs

#12. Put your feet in the bath in which you squeezed a lemon.

Weakened nerves and irritability

#13. Mix 1 egg yolk, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey and drink the mixture.


#14. Mix 150 ml. drained fresh lemon juice and the same amount of olive oil. Drink one tea spoon until cough passes.


#15. Pour a cup of boiling water on one teaspoon of dried thyme and 2 lemon slices, cover and leave while. Drain and drink the warm potion.

You can also prepare drink of one lemon and a grated apple, poured with two times more water sweetened with a spoonful honey.
